Chapter 15

In Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15, the Lord Krishna reveals that one who knows the banyan tree is the knower of the Vedas. No one knows where the tree begins and ends and where its foundation is. But with determination one must cut down this strongly rooted tree with the weapon of detachment. The supreme abode is not illuminated by the sun, moon, fire or electricity. Those who reach there never want to return to Earth. The splendour of these celestial bodies comes from Him and he enters the planet and his energies stay in orbit. He also says that there are two classes of beings, the fallible and the infallible. In the material world every living entity is fallible, and in the spiritual world every living entity is called infallible. Above all this is the Supreme Soul. And whoever understands this fact, is the knower of everything and engages himself in full devotional service of Him.
